Did you know that it is the frequency of sugar that affects tooth decay?

When you eat any sugar, generally known as fermented carbohydrate, it produces acid in your mouth. This acid produces holes in your teeth, commonly known as tooth decay.

There are different stages of tooth decay, but it is all a matter of prevention before it gets really big and causes bigger problems and pain. This is the reason why it is important to visit the dentist for a dental check up.

As mentioned, the cause of decay is related to the acidic solution created in your mouth, which is a combination of bacteria and the result of eating sweets.

What really matters is the frequency of eating those sweets rather than the amount. If you keep eating sweets for a certain period of time, you are creating this acidic solution in your mouth which does not let the mouth recover. The best solution is to eat once and let the mouth recover.

You should not brush your teeth for at least half an hour after eating something sweet because the mouth is creating acidity.

How can we prevent tooth decay? Visit the dentist at least once every 6 months for a check up and clean.
